Grill 'n Chill 2026

Every Summer Brandon UMC holds a community picnic called "Grill 'n' Chill". This year, we gathered at Brandon Park on Wednesday July 01 for a picnic supper. The higher-than-normal afternoon temperatures dropped just a bit, and a mild breeze was blowing.  Grilled hot dogs, salad, chips, side dishes, and yummy desserts were abundant. The kids enjoyed an inflatable bounce 'castle' and played some frisbee games. 

Carefree Highway did a fantastic job providing live classic songs from the 60's and 70's. We enjoyed meeting some new neighbors, and we welcomed old friends from other local churches: Utica UMC, Lock Federated, and the Brandon Baptist Church. Greeting cards with supportive messages were signed and will be sent to those serving in the military. 

Funding was provided in part by Thrivent Financial through a "community action" grant. We estimated an overall attendance of about 70 people.
